CLEVELAND POLICE NARCOTICS UNIT BUSTS METH LAB

The Cleveland Division of Police Narcotics Unit is currently investigating a Methamphetamine Lab found at 18302 Flamingo Avenue in the First District.

The preliminary investigation reveals that on April 10, 2012 at approximately 6:30pm, Cleveland Police conducted a traffic stop at West 189th Street and Ponciana where the driver of the vehicle admitted to having materials associated with methamphetamine production in the vehicle; the Cleveland Division of Fire HAZMAT unit and the Cleveland Division of Police Bomb Squad responded as a result to decontaminate the vehicle and two individuals were arrested.

The preliminary investigation on Flamingo Avenue at this time reveals that the methamphetamine lab found inside the home was inactive.  No injuries were reported.  Approximately four homes were evacuated as a safety precaution and residents were allowed to return home once the area was determined to be safe.
