Wanted Vehicle/Driver in Hit Skip Accident

Wanted Vehicle/Driver in Hit-Skip Accident – the Cleveland Division of Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-skip accident where the victim was severely injured.  Robert Charles Bielak, an off duty Pinckney, MI police officer, was travelling south on I-71 via motorcycle when he pulled over into the berm just south of the Ridge Road overpass (mile marker 243.6) to check his map.  Bielak was then struck by a vehicle and the driver continued on without stopping.

Per witness statements and vehicle parts recovered from the scene, the vehicle wanted is believed to be a 1992-1999 Buick Lesabre which is light beige metallic in color.  The vehicle will have heavy damage to the right side front fender, bumper and molding.  The vehicle will be missing a right side hubcap and mirror.

A witness described the driver as a white male in his 30s.

The vehicle was last seen headed southbound on I-71 past the West 150th exit.

The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center by EMS for treatment of his injuries.
