Last evening, one of our Traffic Controllers was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic downtown. We are happy to be able to report that he did not sustain any life threatening injuries and was treated and released at an area hospital.
Since power is still out in many areas, and many traffic signals remain inoperable due to recent weather conditions, we have more than the usual amount of police officers and traffic controllers in busy intersections directing traffic. They are working long shifts in the cold and rain to keep traffic flowing for all of us. Please use extra caution when approaching the intersections. Rain and low light conditions can make the controllers difficult to see, even when they are wearing reflective clothing.
To all of you out there braving this weather in an intersection, Thank You!
