Aggravated Murder Suspect Sought

Police seek public’s help in locating suspect wanted in New Year’s Day Homicide:

CLEVELAND – Today Michael McGrath, Chief of the Cleveland Division of Police, announced that the Cleveland Division of Police is seeking the public’s help in locating Marcellus D. Smith who is wanted for Aggravated Murder. Smith, along with his brother, Montel Smith, is accused of shooting Nathan Brown with a shotgun on January 1, 2013 after breaking into the victim’s home in the 10100 block of Hilgert Avenue. Montel Smith has since been arrested.

Marcellus D. Smith is described as a black male, 22 years of age, standing 6’1” and weighing 175 pounds. Marcellus Smith is known to be armed and dangerous. If seen, Smith should not be approached and police should be contacted.

The Division of Police will be conducting a Practice Test for the Patrol Officer exam. This will consist of a shortened version of the test which consists of questions that are similar to what will be on the actual test. You will also be able to get an idea of what the testing process will be like.

Should you decide to participate, you will be able to choose which of the two sessions you wish to attend. Both sessions will be on Tuesday, February 12th at Cleveland Public Auditorium, 500 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114:

9:00 A.M.
6:00 P.M.

Seating will be limited, so please make sure you arrive early. Once you have taken the practice test, the correct answers will be reviewed.

This invitation has been extended to you to aid you in the testing process. It is not mandatory. No registration is necessary.
