Second District Officers Discover Methamphetamine Lab

On February 20, 2013 at 1825 Willowdale Avenue in the Second District, a suspected Methamphetamine Lab was discovered. At approximately 10:15 am, Second District officers received a radio assignment to respond to 1825 Willowdale Avenue to assist housing court bailiffs with an eviction. The bailiffs had discovered drug paraphernalia. The preliminary investigation revealed the floor of the home to have garbage, syringes and drug paraphernalia scattered about. Also visible were items used to make methamphetamine and suspected methamphetamine. The Second District Vice Unit responded to the scene for investigation. Officers detained a male and female. Immediately following finding the suspected methamphetamine, officers evacuated the home along with the male and female and their three children. The Cleveland Division of Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene. The male and female were placed under arrest for Child Endangering and Violation of the State Drug Law. The children, ages 1, 2 and 4 were released into the custody of a family member.
