Large Scale Vice Operation Executed Today
Today, the Cleveland Division of Police Third District Vice Unit executed 12 arrest warrants and 6 search warrants in a large scale drug trafficking conspiracy investigation. The Third District Vice Unit arrested multiple individuals with the help of the Narcotics Unit, the First and Fifth District Vice Units and our law enforcement partners including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Cuyahoga County Sherriff’s Office, the Cuyahoga County Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Department and the West shore Enforcement Bureau.
This investigation spanned the course of many months and involved the East 74th Street/Cedar Avenue/Central Avenue neighborhood. The suspects are accused of mass narcotics sales including both the sale of crack cocaine and heroin. This investigation involved countless investigative hours. As this case unfolds, other conspirators may be identified.
In interviews with local media, Mayor Jackson stressed that the arrests will lead to overall improvement in the neighborhood: “it is more than quality of life; it is peace of mind” knowing that these criminals are off of our streets.
Commander Patrick Stephens, who is in charge of the Third District reported that the plan was executed in about an hour with no injuries to either officer or arrestee. Stephens reports that the arrests are very significant to this neighborhood. Our Third District Vice Unit did a great service to the City of Cleveland today. GREAT JOB D3!
