Arrest made in Hate Crime Incident

Juvenile Suspect Arrested

Today Michael McGrath, Chief of the Cleveland Division of Police, announced the arrest of a male wanted on a Robbery Felonious Assault warrant. The arrested male is a 17-year old juvenile from Cleveland’s west side.

The arrest warrant was issued as a result of an investigation by the Cleveland Division of Police First District Detective Bureau involving the Robbery Felonious Assault of Jared Fox, which occurred on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at W. 93rd & Detroit Avenue at 11:50 p.m.

The juvenile was arrested today without incident by First District Detectives. After booking the male will be conveyed to the Cuyahoga Juvenile Detention Center.

The Cleveland Division of Police is requesting the public’s help in locating any other possible suspects that were involved in the attack. The Division is asking that anyone with information contact the First District Detective Bureau at 216.623.5118. 2013 Cleveland Division of Police Wellness Challenge: “Commit to be Fit”

The Division kicked off the second annual Cleveland Division of Police Wellness Challenge on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The challenge serves the goal of increasing overall health and wellness within the division by way of structured fitness, nutrition and disease management programs.

The challenge will take place over a six month period and is open to all sworn officers and civilian employees. Participants form teams and are allowed assistants for encouragement, guidance and support. The teams are tested on a bi-weekly basis and will be judged on combined pounds lost, BMI and completion of Cooper Institute Physical Fitness Goals.

Prizes will be awarded. Good luck to all participants!

Horseback Ride Through Downtown: Become a Sponsor of the Mounted Unit


Horseback Ride through Downtown

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, the Cleveland Police Mounted Unit participated in a horseback ride throughout downtown sponsored by the Ohio Farm Bureau. People (and horses) came from all over for the unique experience of riding downtown. The event will sponsor the Cleveland Police Mounted Unit. Proceeds collected will, through the Cleveland Police Foundation, go towards the horses’ care including food and vetting.
