Cleveland Police Officers Awarded in FBI Honorary Medals Program

Today, four Cleveland Police Detectives and one Shaker Heights Police Detective were awarded the Shield of Bravery by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In January of 2012, officers of the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force successfully apprehended suspects with connections to Mexican drug traffickers who also supplied drugs to Cleveland dealers.  During the operation, a confidential human source was shot by a suspect, who then fled with three other suspects.  Officers of the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force acted quickly to secure the injured individual, aid in his medical transport and join the air/ground pursuit of the armed suspects.  All of the suspects were captured.  These officers were commended for their decisive action and commitment to the mission:

The Cleveland Division of Police will operate a Sobriety Checkpoint today, Friday, October 18, 2013.

The Third District will operate a Sobriety Checkpoint today, Friday, October 18, 2013 along with officers from Case Western Reserve Police Department, Cleveland Clinic Police Department and University Circle Police Department.  The Checkpoint will be located on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Carnegie Avenue and Euclid Avenue.  The Checkpoint will operate from 7:45pm until 1:00am.

The goal is to reduce the number of alcohol/impaired related accidents and to keep the roads safe for all drivers.

On October 16, 2013 at approximately 8:45am, two 14 year old female students were robbed at gunpoint outside of Cleveland Central Catholic School.  The suspects are described as black males, both approximately 18 years of age.  Two individuals, believed to be the suspects, can be seen in this video.  Anyone with information regarding the identification of these suspects is asked to contact the Fourth District Detective Bureau at 216-623-5418.  Anonymous information can be given to Crime Stoppers by calling 216.252.7463 or via text message: text TIP657 plus your message to Crimes (274637).
