32 People Indicted in Heroin Ring Bust: Operation Lakeshore
Today, federal, county and city officials announced the indictment of 32 individuals wanted for their roles in heroin and crack cocaine sales throughout eastside communities. The offenses occurred throughout the City of Cleveland’s northeast portion and in the City of Euclid. Most of the suspects are affiliated with the East Side gang known as the Lakeshore Boyz. The cases are the result of a yearlong investigation by the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force, which includes members of the FBI, the Cleveland Division of Police, and the Cuyahoga County Sherriff’s Office, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Euclid Police department, amongst other law enforcement agencies.
These arrests are a result of the continuation of the investigation relating to last month’s indictment of 92 individuals on drug trafficking charges in the same neighborhoods. “This case is a demonstration of law enforcement working together to improve neighborhoods in Northeast Ohio,” said United States Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach. “The arrests of the 32 individuals are testament to our commitment to the residents of our communities to get drug dealers off of our streets. Along with our law enforcement partners and the community we will continue to do our best to stop drug traffickers from selling their poison in our neighborhoods,” said Michael McGrath Chief of the Cleveland Division of Police.
