City of Cleveland and Division of Police Honor Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell

Marcus Luttrell is a former United States Navy SEAL, who received the Navy Cross and Purple Heart for his actions in June 2005 facing Taliban fighters during Operation Red Wings. Marcus is also the author of the best-selling book “Lone Survivor” which has been made into a motion picture.

For his Patriot Tour, Marcus hits the road with a number of special guests and performers. Some are fellow veterans, others have lives that have been profoundly changed by those who have served and sacrificed, and all share a special bond with Marcus and his sense of duty and patriotism.

On March 21, 2014, the Patriot Tour came to Cleveland’s Playhouse Square. Chief Calvin D. Williams, along with Commander Harold Pretel, Commander James Chura and Sergeant Brian Carney presented Marcus with a proclamation from the City of Cleveland signed by Mayor Frank G. Jackson thanking him for his service to our country. On behalf of the men and women of the Cleveland Division of Police, we thank Marcus Luttrell and all veterans and current service men and women for their service and dedication.
