UPDATE: Photo of Female Believed to Have Left 2 Young Children at Local Shelter

The Cleveland Division of Police Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit is currently investigating an incident involving Endangering Children. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the mother of two children who were left alone on May 28, 2014.

On May 28, 2014, Third District officers responded to 1710 Prospect Avenue, the Salvation Army/Harbor Light, for two children left unattended. Upon arrival, it was learned that a black female, early 30’s, approximately 5’4”, 140 pounds, checked into the shelter at approximately 2:00 am with two very young children, they were provided a room. At approximately 9:00 am, workers responded to the room and found only the two children.

The children were transported to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for evaluation. Upon release, they will be placed into the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Further investigation reveals that the name used by the female to check into the facility is possibly false. The reason for the female leaving the children is undetermined at this time.

Children: 1 year old black male and approximately 3 week old black female.
