Police Seek the Public’s Help in Locating Kidnapping Victim, Suspect, Vehicle

The Cleveland Division of Police Fifth District Detective Bureau is currently investigating a kidnapping incident which occurred on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at approximately 1:15am.  Fifth district zone car officers were on routine patrol in the area of Lakeview Avenue and Earl Road when they heard a female screaming for help from a silver Chevy Malibu with Michigan plates.  Officers immediately pursued the vehicle, the female made attempts to escape from the vehicle as the suspect/driver fled from police.  The vehicle was last seen in the area of Empire and Herrick at which point officers lost visual of the vehicle.   

The suspect is described as a black male with a beard, 30s. 

The victim is described as a black female with black hair, 30s, thin build. 

Officers continued to patrol and search for the vehicle, zone car officers remain detailed to this incident.  A city wide broadcast with the description of the vehicle, suspect and victim was provided to all officers; the broadcast will be repeated throughout today’s shifts.  The Ohio State Highway Patrol, East Cleveland Police Department and Bratenahl Police Department were notified of this incident and reported no similar incidents. The Division of Police has also made contact with the Michigan State Police regarding this incident.   In addition, radio assignments for domestic situations, etc., were monitored for similarities. Detectives continue to investigate.
