UPDATE: Arrest Made in Kidnapping/Attempted Rape Incident

On Thursday, July 23, 2015, First District detectives arrested 23 year old Jeremy Frazier in connection with the kidnapping/attempted rape incident which occurred on July 6, 2015 on West 98th Street. Frazier was charged with Kidnapping and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, July 25, 2015. The Cleveland Division of Police thanks the public and the media for their attention to this matter. The suspect was arrested after detectives were able to identify him via numerous tips from the public.

The Cleveland Division of Police First District Detective Bureau is currently investigating a Kidnapping/Attempted Rape incident which occurred on July 6, 2015 at approximately 7:55am.

A 25 year old female victim reported that she was walking in the area of West 98th Street near Cudell Recreation Center on her way to the bus stop.  The victim reports she was wearing headphones attached to her cell phone.  She was grabbed from behind, with the suspect putting his arm around her neck and pulling a grey sweatshirt over her head and face.  The victim reports being pulled violently to the ground, the suspect dragged her behind a bush and attempted to rape her.  The victim was able to fight her way free of the suspect and run away, the suspect then fled on foot.  The suspect is possibly a Hispanic male, heavyset with dark short hair.
