Police Seek the Public’s Help in Identifying Suspect Wanted for Child Abduction

Suspect Sought in Abduction of Six Year Old Girl



CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Division of Police is currently seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect wanted for the abduction of a six year old girl which occurred on May 21, 2016. Police responded to the 3000 block of West 104th Street for a missing person investigation.  The girl, who had last been seen around 4:00 am, was reported missing to police at approximately 2:30pm.  Officers engaged in an extensive search, canvassing the neighborhood and utilizing canine and helicopter searches.  The Federal Bureau of Investigation partnered with the Cleveland Division of Police early in the investigation.


At approximately 9:30pm, officers received information that the girl had been located at a home in the 13800 block of Lyric Avenue. The girl was immediately transported to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for medical examination where she remains a patient.  The Department of Children and Family Services is also conducting an investigation into this case.


Through interview of the victim, it was learned that she had been taken from the downstairs unit of the home by an unknown Caucasian male. She was kept by the suspect throughout the day and was dropped off in the area of West 140th Street and Lyric Avenue by the suspect in the 9:00pm hour.


Detectives and agents continue to canvass the neighborhood extensively for witnesses and are in the process of reviewing video that may be connected to the incident. Additional information will be released by law enforcement when deemed appropriate.
