FELONIOUS ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICER – REWARD 
OFFICER ASSAULTED
On Thursday, October 26, 2017, a female Cleveland Police officer was assaulted while working secondary employment in full uniform at the Taco Bell at 4110 Lee Road. Her service weapon was taken in this brutal attack. 
The officer exited the Taco Belland was placing items into her personal vehicle. A suspect approached her from behind and attempted to take her service weapon. As she fought back a second suspect approached and beat her repeatedly in her face. The suspects managed to take her gun and the two fled. The officer was treated for facial injuries. 
Anyone with direct information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators in the Fourth District Detective Bureau at 216-623-5418. Overnight information can be given at 216-621-1234. Reward monies up to $2,500.00 can be available via Crimestoppers for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the wanted or for information that leads to the recovery of the service weapon.

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING 
Preliminary investigation:
Officers responded to the area of E. 91/St. Clair for shots fired today at approximately 4:50pm. While on scene they were flagged down by a citizen who directed them to the area of the shooting. Officers approached the area and two males fled the scene on foot. The officers gave chase, one male entered the driveway of 718 E. 93rd street where he fell, dropping one handgun and continued to run. Once in the rear yard of this address the suspect produced a second handgun. Shots were fired by one officer. The suspect was struck. The officers administered first aid and called for EMS; the injured adult male suspect was taken to UH for treatment where he was pronounced deceased. 
Members of the Homicide Unit and the Use of Force Investigation Team responded to the scene for investigation and remain on scene. Two hand guns were recovered at the scene. Information relative to the officer’s identity will be released within 72 hours as per protocol. Identity of the decedent will be released by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. This matter will be further investigated.
